How SongMuse collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data

Overview

SongMuse is an AI music creation service for generating songs, lyrics, melodies, vocals, and related music assets. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use SongMuse.

By using SongMuse, you understand that your account data, prompts, generation settings, uploaded or generated music assets, payment events, and support messages may be processed as described below.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly:

Account details such as name, email address, password credentials, avatar, and authentication provider information.
Login information from supported OAuth providers, such as Google, when you choose social sign-in.
Music creation inputs such as prompts, lyrics, titles, style tags, instrumental settings, generation parameters, uploaded audio references, and other settings you submit.
Generated music records such as task IDs, audio IDs, audio URLs, cover images, lyrics, metadata, generation status, likes, plays, and library data.
Billing and credit-related records such as plan, checkout session, invoice, subscription status, credit balance, and credit transaction history.
Messages you send to us, newsletter subscription details, and support correspondence.

We also collect information automatically:

Device and usage data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URLs, locale, timestamps, and diagnostic logs.
Session, security, and preference data needed to keep you signed in and make the service work.
Analytics, captcha, chat, or product telemetry data if those optional services are enabled for the site.

How We Use Information

We use personal data to:

Create and secure your account.
Authenticate you, including social login and email/password login.
Process prompts and generation settings through our AI music providers.
Store, display, stream, and manage generated tracks and library records.
Charge credits, distribute registration or subscription credits, process refunds, and keep billing records.
Provide customer support and service notifications.
Send product emails or newsletters when you subscribe or when account-related messages are required.
Detect abuse, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and protect the service.
Improve reliability, performance, features, and user experience.
Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

AI Music Processing

When you submit prompts, lyrics, styles, titles, generation parameters, or audio references, SongMuse sends the information needed to complete the request to our AI music provider. The provider may return task IDs, callback events, audio files, cover images, lyrics, status updates, and related metadata.

Generated tracks may be public by default in SongMuse's discovery experience unless a private or unpublished option is available and selected. Do not submit private, confidential, or third-party content unless you have the rights and permissions needed to use it.

Payments and Credits

Payments are processed by Stripe. SongMuse does not store full payment card numbers. We store payment and subscription records needed to provide paid plans, credit packages, invoices, fraud prevention, accounting, and customer support.

Credits are used to start generation jobs and may expire according to the plan or package terms shown at checkout or in the app.

Third-Party Services

We use service providers to operate SongMuse. Depending on how the site is configured, these may include:

AI music generation providers, including Kie.
Payment processors, including Stripe.
Email and newsletter providers, including Resend.
Authentication providers, including Google OAuth.
Database, hosting, storage, and S3-compatible file storage providers.
Analytics, captcha, chat, and notification providers when enabled.

These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to SongMuse or as otherwise required by law.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

SongMuse uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions such as authentication, session security, locale, theme, and preferences. Optional analytics, chat, and security tools may also use cookies or similar identifiers when enabled. See our Cookie Policy for more details.

We do not sell personal information. We may share information:

With service providers that help us operate SongMuse.
With payment, authentication, AI, hosting, storage, email, analytics, captcha, or notification providers as described above.
When you publish or make content public, including generated tracks, profile details, likes, and related metadata.
To comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests.
To protect SongMuse, users, rights holders, and the public from fraud, abuse, security incidents, or harmful activity.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide SongMuse, maintain your account, complete transactions, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal or accounting requirements.

Generation records, public tracks, and billing records may remain after account closure when retention is required for legitimate business, security, legal, or tax reasons. When deletion is available and legally permitted, we will delete or de-identify data within a reasonable period.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data; object to or restrict certain processing; opt out of marketing communications; or lodge a complaint with a privacy regulator.

You can manage some account information in the app. To request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy help, email support@songmuse.art. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

International Processing

SongMuse and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including authentication controls, provider access controls, and secure transport where appropriate. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so you should use a strong password and keep your account credentials safe.

Children

SongMuse is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data to SongMuse, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as SongMuse evolves. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and update the effective date.
